"This book is more than a necessary read for educational leaders; it is transformational. Grounded in research and embedded with nuggets of wisdom, applicable insight, and opportunities for reflection, Dr. Moreland has written a gem that empowers educational leaders to remember not only why we teach and lead, but who. As such, she reminds us that with a H.U.M.A.N. approach, we can cultivate connection, seek solutions, and create conditions for success that optimize the learning environment and honor the human beings with whom we interact daily. This author’s compassion, knowledge, and organizational style contributes to the page-turner that is this book. Designed to “help school and district leaders bring humanity back to education”, it does exactly that—with relevance, practical strategies, and tangible hope!"

Kristen Moreland’s groundbreaking new book will bring new hope, new opportunities, and new vistas into “this place called school.” Examples, illustrations, vignettes, and witty epigrams from luminaries across the globe and throughout time demonstrate just “how” it can be done. Cleverly written and in a manner most apropos for leaders at ALL levels, Dr. Moreland hones in on what school leaders worry about the most—“time and space.” And so, as one dives into these pages of what it means to be a great leader, they begin to see the kaleidoscopic array of “how to” with a much more human-centered approach. In short, Kristen Moreland has crystallized for neophyte and veteran leaders alike, a panoply of leadership qualities and approaches that sit in easy reach."
